David Beckham’s tattoo of Posh Spice causes school-poster controversy

David Beckham‘s provocative tattoo of his wife Victoria has created a stir in the UK after the ink was seen in promotional posters by supermarket chain Sainsbury’s reportedly sent to 47,000 schools and community centers across the country.

The tattoo in question, which features a scantily clad Posh Spice posing seductively on Beckham’s left forearm, is displayed in ads featuring the L.A. Galaxy midfielder encouraging preschool-age kids to adopt an active lifestyle.

“I can see it’s not really appropriate to have on show in front of children,” one teacher told The Sun.

“We are going to keep the material in the preschool but make sure it’s too high up for the children to see.”

At least she’s not being wasteful. Sainsbury’s has apologized for its lapse in judgement and said it will “take this feedback on board when designing our Active Kids material going forward.” Translation: Long-sleeve shirts.

Meanwhile, Sarah Jones doesn’t see what the big deal is.
