
England lost a tying goal in their semifinal game against the United States at the Women’s World Cup in France on Tuesday following a review by the video assistant referee (VAR).
England’s Ellen White had scored in the 68th minute to tie the game at two, but the new VAR ruled that she was offside.

White scored in the 19th minute for England’s first goal and was looking to make it two and separate herself from Alex Morgan in pursuit of the Golden Boot. Morgan scored in the 31st minute to give the U.S. a 2-1 lead.
