Diamond Dallas Page says Jake ‘The Snake’ Roberts is almost cancer free

Wrestling legend Jake “The Snake” Roberts was attempting to resurrect his career last year before he was diagnosed with a form of muscular cancer. The 58-year-old had surgery to remove a cancerous tumor just below his knee back in February, and it sounds like the procedure was a success.

TMZ caught up with Roberts’ close friend Diamond Dallas Page earlier this week, and he said Roberts is doing well and is nearly cancer free.

“They got the reports back,” DDP said. “The cancer, they’ve gotten most of it out. They think they need to go in and get a little bit more out of his leg but it’s not threatening anymore or life-threatening. He was really scared and so were we.”

Before Roberts was diagnosed with cancer, he had moved in with Page and managed to lose 70 pounds doing Page’s yoga workout. He described his recovery as a “resurrection” at the time.

“I don’t regret my mistakes,” Roberts told Jay Busbee of Yahoo! Sports. “Got to accept those. I’m not ashamed of my life any more. Thank God for forgiveness. I’ve got a lot of people I’ve got to come back to, but today, I’m not not hiding from it. I’m not thinking about running.”

Hopefully he can maintain that same attitude toward life in remission. We wish Roberts all the best.
