Jerry Lawler reportedly responsive but feared to have brain damage

After suffering a heart attack during “Monday Night Raw” earlier this week, Jerry Lawler is said to be responsive and recovering. According to his ex-wife, former WWE Diva Stacy Carter, Lawler underwent more heart procedures on Tuesday and doctors have since removed his ventilation and taken him out of sedation. However, Carter wrote on Facebook that it is feared ‘The King’ he may have brain damage.

“I have an update on Jerry. The docs are removing his ventilation & taking him out of sedation,” Carter wrote according to All Wrestling News. “He is responsive, which is great!!! It took a while to revive him last night so there’s the concern of brain damage. He had some tests done which will show how much if any damage there is due to the lack of oxygen to his brain. Unfortunately, the results won’t be in until in the morning. I appreciate all the calls, texts, tweets, & Facebook messages of support & I know Jerry will too. Thanks everybody!!”

Considering he was pronounced clinically dead for 20 minutes before being revived, news that Lawler is responsive is certainly a good thing. It’s far too early to say if WWE fans can expect him back ringside ever again, but our thoughts are with Jerry as he continues on the road to recovery.
