Garrett McNamara may have broken his own world record for highest wave ever surfed. A little over a year ago, McNamara was in Nazare, Portugal where he surfed a wave reported to be 90-feet high. It was later determined by Guinness World Records that he surfed a record 78-foot high wave.
On Monday, the big-wave rider returned to the scene of the record in an attempt to press the limits.
McNamara surfed a wave that is reported to have been 100-feet high, though we’re guessing it will be officially measured at a lower mark. In the video above, you can see how tall some of the waves were.
McNamara has to be towed in by a jet ski in order to ride those massive waves.
