Angels’ World Series odds get big boost after Ohtani signing
The Angels’ World Series odds received a big boost following the Shohei Ohtani news.
Ohtani’s representatives announced on Friday that the Japanese phenom will sign with the Angels. As a result, their odds to win the World Series were lowered from 50-1 to 30-1 at one Las Vegas sportsbook.
Japanese star Shohei Ohtani's signing with the Los Angeles Angels had ripple effects in Las Vegas as well. The Angels go from 50-1 to 30-1 to win the World Series at the Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook. https://t.co/b30dMlwT7T

The Angels were only 80-82 last season, and that was with Mike Trout on the team (though he did miss time with an injury), so the Angels still have a lot of work just to make the postseason, let alone win it all. But Ohtani should give them the ace starter they so desperately covet, not to mention another bat. And you have to figure that after landing Ohtani, the Angels will be even more aggressive in free agency to continue building and getting back to contention.
