Joakim Noah on Derrick Rose: Everybody chill the f— out

Derrick Rose hamstring

Derrick Rose left Thursday night’s game late in the fourth quarter with yet another injury. Rose and the Chicago Bulls are calling this one a “minor” hamstring injury, but that hasn’t stopped fans from moaning and groaning and media from speculating that Rose might never be fully healthy.

Joakim Noah has a message for those fans and reporters.

“I know sometimes it’s frustrating, you got injuries, you got tweaks,” Noah said, via James Herbert of CBSSports.com. “Every time something happens to him, people act like it’s the end of the world. And that’s f—ing so lame to me.

“Relax. Like, OK, he’s coming back from two crazy surgeries. Obviously we’re being conservative with him, and when things aren’t going right, he’s got to listen to his body more than anybody. So everybody needs to chill the f— out.”

Noah apologized for cursing, though it was the second time he swore that day when speaking to reporters.

Rose has already suffered multiple serious injuries during his career, so people automatically fear the worst any time they see him limping. The comments he made earlier in the week about sitting out games to preserve his long-term health probably weren’t wise. While we don’t think anything he said was unreasonable, Rose simply gave fans another reason to question his toughness.
