Mike Tyson helped motorcycle crash victim ‘like a superhero’

Mike-Tyson-Floyd-Mayweather-Manny-Pacquiao-JailWhen 29-year-old Ryan Chesley crashed his motorcycle last week on Interstate 15 in Las Vegas, he couldn’t believe who he saw while he was trying to make sense of everything that had just happened. One of the first people to come to Chesley’s aid was none other than Mike Tyson.

Chesley crashed his motorcycle at around 9:30 p.m. last Tuesday when he says a taxi cut him off. Chesley’s lawyer said his client thought he was seeing things when he looked up and saw Tyson yelling at people to not touch him.

“He thought he was hallucinating,” attorney Stephen Stubbs told The Associated Press. “He thought he was in some other world.”

As soon as paramedics arrived, Tyson was gone. Stubbs said he left like “some sort of superhero,” not interested in waiting around to receive attention for lending a helping hand. The former heavyweight champion was recognized for his good deed anyway, as Chesley sent him a fruit basket and a hand-written thank you note.

“Thank you so much for looking over me after my accident,” Chesley wrote to Tyson. “It has to be the most reassuring thing in the world to have Mike Tyson telling people not to touch me.”

Chesley suffered broken bones and torn ligaments, but he was still able to use his right hand to snap a photo of Tyson with his cell phone. It only captured Iron Mike from the neck down.

We may be more familiar with the Tyson that blows up during interviews than we are with the one who has a compassionate side, but Chesley must be glad the softer side exists.

Mike Tyson erupts during interview after being called convicted rapist (Video)

Mike Tyson

Mike Tyson went old school Iron Mike on a Canadian TV host who called him a “convicted rapist” during an interview on live TV Wednesday.

Tyson was a guest on CP24 in Canada to promote his 1-man show tour when the host asked him about meeting with Toronto mayor Rob Ford on Tuesday. The host asked Tyson about people who felt Ford being endorsed by a convicted rapist would be a bad thing for the mayor (as if Ford hasn’t done enough drugs on his own to hurt his image).

Tyson flipped out in response, calling the interviewer a negative person, piece of s—, and much more.

You can watch the video below, but beware that the language is full of cursing.

Mike Tyson and Jon Jones boxing and Tyson sets him up for sick punch (Video)

Former world heavyweight champion boxer Mike Tyson and current UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones saw each other over the weekend and decided to have a little impromptu boxing sparring session. We’ll give you one guess regarding the outcome.

Jones posted this great video to his Instagram account and you can see Tyson throw three jabs before sneaking in a right that would have terminated Bones. The setup was as good as something seen in “The Sting.”

Tyson throws a stiff jab to the body and then throws it a second time. But on the second jab to the body, Tyson telegraphs it so Jones is only focusing on the jab, and then he sneaks in his right for a big punch that would have rocked Jones.

Mike Tyson Jon Jones

Tyson obviously held back on the right, but Jones and everyone “oooh’d” and “awww’d” over the Tyson punch. Even Jones admitted “he set that one up!”

Tyson was one of the most well-schooled boxers in the sport. He was smart, savvy and technically proficient. Most people look at him as just a brute, but this video shows you how he was just as much about smarts as power.

And how good was that combo? When I sent the video to Steve DelVecchio, he admitted he couldn’t even see the knockout punch. That’s that abbra-caddabra, holmes. Tyson has you focusing on one thing and forgetting about the other.
