Was the Jameis Winston sexual assault accusation just a conspiracy from Alabama fans looking to derail Florida State’s football season? That’s what one reporter wanted to know.
During Thursday’s press conference to announce that Winston would not be charged in the alleged sexual assault case, one reporter asked Winston’s attorney Tim Jansen whether the victim’s family had an affiliation with Alabama. Seriously.
“Do they have any affiliation whatsoever with the University of Alabama?” the reporter asked.
So there you have it. Some people really think women bring forward rape charges because they want to screw up a team’s football season.
