Mike Riley Wikipedia page gets funny edits after Nebraska hiring
Wikipedia editors (read: college football fans) wasted no time adjusting Mike Riley’s page after the former Oregon State coach was named the new head coach at Nebraska on Thursday. For starters, they changed his position from “head coach” to “Faux Pelini’s ghost”:
Faux Pelini, of course, was the internet meme created about former Cornhuskers coach Bo Pelini.
Then another update said Riley hated corn but loved potatoes:

Then his coaching record at Nebraska was already updated to 0-12:

Next people cracked jokes about Riley dying a slow death at Nebraska and not being able to take a program to the next level:

As if that wasn’t bad enough, angry Nebraska fans changed the page to say Nebraska’a AD was tarred and feathered for choosing Riley:
At least one #Nebraska fan is not a fan of the Mike Riley hire and shared his thoughts on Wikipedia. pic.twitter.com/OqLIvOA68h

Of course that dummy fan didn’t even realize Riley came from the Beavers program, not the Ducks, but that might be part of the joke.
Guess what? It wasn’t all bad about Riley! At least someone is predicting a Big Ten championship for him next season!
