Plaxico Burress rips Nick Saban for complaining about draft grades
Plaxico Burress played for Nick Saban at Michigan State, and the former NFL wide receiver never got over Saban’s decision to leave the Spartans to take a job at LSU. So when Saban made headlines on Wednesday by complaining about NFL Draft grades, Burress had to make sure he got his two cents in.
While chatting with reporters at SEC Media Days, Saban said that he would like to see official NFL Draft grades released after the college football season is completed. Saban apparently felt that some of his players were concerned about getting hurt in the Sugar Bowl after they got a better idea of their draft stock.
Take it away, Plaxico.
I recall Nick Saban telling me to stay in school finish what I started, I wasnt 1st round pick and he left for LSU b4 the season was over

Nick Saban actually told me I was a second round pick. I said, "where are you getting your info from? Are you watching these games? Hahaha

The Pittsburgh Steelers took Burress with the 8th overall pick in the 2000 NFL Draft.
Burress has a point. College players don’t make money, and Saban makes plenty of it. Once your draft stock is already cemented, it’s human nature to be worried about getting hurt and screwing up what could be a profitable NFL career.
That said, Burress has a somewhat biased opinion. Remember what he said several months ago about Saban leaving him high and dry at Michigan State? It’s safe to say Burress will be holding a life-long grudge.
