The UCLA scenario was similar to USC’s search before they hired Pete Carroll. They offered the job to Dennis Erickson, Mike Bellotti (sounds familiar), and Mike Riley before being rebuffed and picking the unemployed but very formidible Pete Carroll.

Your right. AD Guerrero did a pretty thorough search for the hottest date: Peterson, Mooch, and even got pretty close to bagging Belotti. But in the end the easy choice will hopefully prove the good choice.
