Video: Michael Hayes Makes a Fool of UCLA Defense on Touchdown Run

I’ll say this for UCLA, it only took them one quarter to get into mid-season form. That’s impressive. The Bruins gave up 38 points and 469 yards in a 38-34 defeat to Houston Saturday. The statement play was this beastly 34-yard touchdown run by Cougars senior running back Michael Hayes, who by my count, broke six tackles. Let’s go to the videotape:

It reminded me somewhat of Marshawn Lynch’s touchdown run in the playoffs last season against the Saints. UCLA had a couple of highlight reel catches from Joe Fauria and Nelson Rosario, but if you can’t stop the opposing team it doesn’t matter how many great plays you make on offense. That hot seat continues to warm for Rick Neuheisel.
