Villanova is known as more of a basketball and baseball school than it is a football school. The Wildcats’ football team competes in Division 1-AA, but they opened up their 2013 campaign against Boston College on Saturday. Although Villanova is not expected to beat the Eagles, they did bring us one of the best trick plays of the young season.
The Wildcats executed a textbook fake punt in the first quarter that fooled everyone — including the camera people — and resulted in a 47 yard touchdown and an early 7-0 lead. It took me about three or four times of watching the clip to figure out how they hid the ball so well.
If Villanova wins, it will be an incredible upset. If they lose, they can still be proud of the fact that they brought us one of the best football trick plays we have ever featured on LBS.
