Aaron Rodgers’ brother applauds Russell Wilson for taking high road

Russell Wilson crying

Aaron Rodgers did his best to spark a friendly rivalry between himself and Russell Wilson on Sunday night, and you’ll never guess whose side the Green Bay Packers quarterback’s brother is taking.

When Wilson was asked about the veiled swipe Rodgers took at him with a religious reference, he did his best to not fuel the fire.

“I think that in terms of that comment in all that, you know everybody has a right to their own opinion,” Wilson said Thursday, via Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk. “I know for me, I’m just grateful that God has given me the opportunity to play the great game of football, I’m so grateful. I know one of the things that my parents always taught me is just continue to reign humble in your victories and your losses, and I think that’s just the thing that I’m grateful for, just to be able to play the game of football, and I love it. So like I said, everybody [is entitled] to their own opinion.”

Those remarks inspired former Vanderbilt quarterback Jordan Rodgers, Aaron’s younger brother, to compliment Wilson on Twitter.

The way we see it, there are only two ways to interpret Jordan’s tweets. Either he is taking Wilson’s side, or he is just as much of an expert troll as his big brother.

Aaron loves jabbing the opposition in subtle ways, and you can see a great example of that here. Jordan could have been mocking Wilson, though his follow-up tweet made it seem like he was being genuine. Only the Rodgers family knows for sure.
