Chip Kelly had long been shopping quarterback Matt Barkley, and it looks like he has finally found a taker.
The Philly Inquirer’s Jeff McLane and Zach Berman report that the Eagles have traded Barkley to the Arizona Cardinals for a conditional 7th-round pick.
Barkley being shipped out of town not only means the Eagles are parting ways with their fourth-round pick from 2013, but more importantly, that Tim Tebow is their third-string quarterback.

Tebow outplayed Barkley during the preseason and shined in Thursday’s final preseason game, so this development is not much of a surprise. The only surprise to me is that Philly was able to find someone actually willing to give up a pick for Barkley. This is the Cardinals we’re talking about, and they were in such bad shape at quarterback they actually started Ryan Lindley in a playoff game last year, so it actually makes sense that they would want Barkley.
