Jane Rosenberg receiving ‘hateful emails’ over Tom Brady court sketch
Courtroom sketch artist Jane Rosenberg made New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady look hilariously ugly while fulfilling her duties in a Manhattan courtroom on Wednesday, but apparently there are plenty of people who aren’t laughing.
On Thursday, Rosenberg told “The Dan Patrick Show” that she has been the victim of cyber-bullying and has received hateful emails from fans.
“People found me on my personal email and starting writing me nasty comments,” Rosenberg said. “It’s shocking to me that people waste their time to do this. Why bother? What’s the point for these people to write these things?”
Rosenberg added that she also received some support which she felt was “very nice,” but she was clearly surprised by the number of “nasty” messages she got over one drawing.
“I want to respond to those people (who complimented me). I don’t want to respond to all the nasty ones because I think it’s a waste,” she said. “There’s something wrong with people who want to do that.”
Did the sketch look anything like Brady? No, but that’s the beauty of it. Rosenberg has already apologized for offending people who felt she misrepresented Brady’s good looks. If you ask me, Rosenberg’s drawing was a gift. It has led to some of the most hilarious memes we’ve seen this year.
