Jeremy Lane, Eric Reid join Colin Kaepernick in national anthem protest
Colin Kaepernick’s protest of the national anthem has apparently inspired some other NFL players to join him.
Two separate players — Eric Reid and Jeremy Lane — both sat during the national anthem prior to their team’s preseason games on Thursday.
Reid, a fourth-year safety out of LSU, knelt with his 49ers teammate prior to their game against the Chargers in San Diego.

Meanwhile in Oakland, Seattle Seahawks cornerback Jeremy Lane sat on the bench during the national anthem prior to the Seahawks-Raiders game. You can see him around the 40-yard line on the bench:

Though Kaepernick has become the target of widespread hatred and criticism, it’s clear he is not alone among NFL players in his stance.
