Mark Sanchez could return to Jets

Mark SanchezIt seemed like an impossibility that Mark Sanchez would be back with the New York Jets next season, but it might actually happen.

ESPN New York’s Rich Cimini says Sanchez is rehabbing his surgically-repaired shoulder in New Jersey this week, allowing the Jets a chance to look at him. Cimini reports a source told him that the chances of Sanchez returning to the Jets are 20-30 percent. Though 20-30 percent does not sound like much, that’s still a lot higher than many thought. Most people felt like Sanchez would be done in New York for sure.

Sanchez would have to take a pay cut to remain with the Jets, and he likely will not receive the $2 million roster bonus he is due on March 25.

After reading this report, I’m starting to believe the coach who said Sanchez would start for an NFL team.

We’ll remind you that from 2011-2012, Sanchez committed a league-high 42 turnovers.
