LaRon Landry: I had a fake ID when I was 4 to play football with older kids

LaRon Landry has some jokes. We already new the New York Jets safety enjoys hearing himself speak, as evidenced by the one or two boneheaded comments he seems to come out with every season. What we didn’t realize is that he also thinks he’s a funny guy, and you might even agree.

The Jets are set to take on the Jacksonville Jaguars this Sunday, which means Landry will have the pleasure of facing his older brother, Jags safety Dawan Landry. When discussing his childhood days of playing football on Thursday, LaRon told reporters he was always able to hang with the older kids. From the NY Daily News:

LaRon Landry, who will be playing against his brother (Jacksonville Jaguars safety Dawan Landry) this week, fondly remembered his earliest days playing football. LaRon Landry said that when he was four-years old, he had a fake ID to play in the 5-7-year old peewee football league. “They called me the hammer,” he said.

I have my doubts about whether or not a Pee Wee football league for kids that young would check birth certificates, but you get the point — these freakish pythons weren’t sculpted overnight. Hey, I laughed.
