Pierre Garcon pulled Richard Sherman’s hair (Video)

Pierre Garcon pulled Richard Sherman’s hair during Monday night’s game between the Seattle Seahawks and Washington Redskins. Garcon, who caught just two passes for 23 yards, grabbed a handful of Sherman’s dreadlocks and tossed him to the ground at one point in an attempt to get open.

As you might expect, Sherman was not happy. He blasted Garcon after the game when reporters asked about the hair-pulling incident.

“Pierre did a few things. When you can’t get open, you got to do whatever you can,” Sherman said, per JP Finlay of CSNWashington.com. “The crowd is acting like I’m holding him. Obviously the TV copy you can see what happened.”

Was Sherman worried about the cheap shot? It didn’t seem like it.

“Pierre doesn’t matter in this league,” he said.

When asked to clarify, Sherman said he meant “exactly what I said.”

Garcon seemingly responded to Sherman with a tweet on Tuesday morning:

Sherman had nothing but praise for long-time friend DeSean Jackson, who torched the Seahawks’ secondary for 157 yards and a touchdown. While the All-Pro cornerback has a tendency to take smack talk to an obnoxious level, you can’t really blame him for ripping Garcon. Pulling hair is legal when making a tackle, but doing it to try to get open reeks of desperation. Garcon, who has caught four passes over the past two games, was obviously looking for any edge he could get.
