The Washington Commanders have long been seen as the most likely landing spot for wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk, but that might have changed.
Aiyuk has long been linked with a move to Washington and a reunion with Jayden Daniels, who he played with at Arizona State. ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reported, however, that the Commanders’ interest in such a move has cooled.
“There are several veterans they can look at. I don’t think it’s going to be Brandon Aiyuk at this stage,” Fowler said of the Commanders.

It’s not challenging to figure out why the Commanders are shying away from Aiyuk at this point. The San Francisco 49ers wide receiver has been pushing for that to happen for months, but his recent social media behavior has been erratic, to say the least. It is entirely plausible that the Commanders are wary of adding him to their locker room even if he did become available.
Aiyuk has not played since 2024 due to a torn ACL and MCL. His best season came in 2023, when he caught 75 passes for 1,342 yards and seven touchdowns and earned second-team All-Pro honors.
