Zac Stacy reportedly wants off Rams after Todd Gurley draft pick
There is going to be a crowded backfield in St. Louis, and it sounds like Zac Stacy doesn’t want to be a part of it.
The Rams drafted Todd Gurley with the No. 10 pick in the first round of this year’s draft, making it two years in a row that they drafted a running back pretty highly. Last year they took Tre Mason in the third round and he became the team’s leading rusher.
After the Rams selected Gurley, Stacy sent a notable tweet:
Stacy knew that spelled bad news for him as he’s now third on the team’s depth chart.
Shortly after the pick, NFL reporter Adam Caplan said Stacy planned to ask the Rams for a trade or to be released.
#Rams RB Zac Stacy, after the selection of RB Todd Gurley, plans to ask the team for his release or to be traded, per league source.

We don’t blame Stacy for wanting out. There are plenty of running back-needy teams in the league, and he’s too good to be third string.
