Trent Dilfer, Brad Nessler reportedly the latest to depart ESPN

Trent-Dilfer

The exodus from the World Wide Leader continues unabated.

According to Bob Raissman of the New York Daily News, ESPN NFL analyst Trent Dilfer and play-by-play man Brad Nessler are both set to leave the network.

Dilfer, a fixture on Monday Night Countdown, is reportedly leaving the network over money. There is no word on what his next move will be. He had been with ESPN since his retirement from the NFL in 2008.

Nessler, on the other hand, is leaving for CBS, as originally reported by Clay Travis of Fox Sports. He will reportedly call NFL games for the network until Verne Lundquist retires from his role as the voice of the SEC on CBS, at which point Nessler will take the reins.

It’s been one heck of a week in Bristol, apparently. One of the network’s most respected play-by-play men is reportedly headed for greener pastures, while one of its most polarizing figures is on the way out as well.
