Adolis Garcia shows off cannon arm with insane throw home

Adolis Garcia throws out a runner

Texas Rangers outfielder Adolis Garcia made a throw on Tuesday night that was so incredible even the home plate umpire was fooled.

The Rangers were leading 4-2 in the top of the sixth inning of their win over the Arizona Diamondbacks at Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas. With the bases loaded and one out, D-Backs third baseman Eugenio Suarez hit a deep fly ball to right field that was caught by Garcia. Arizona designated hitter Joc Pederson felt the ball was deep enough that he would be able to tag up and score from third.

Pederson was wrong. Garcia threw an absolute laser to catcher Jonah Heim, who quickly applied the tag. Home plate umpire Todd Tichenor called Pederson safe, but the Rangers challenged and the call was overturned.

It is only fitting that a throw like that resulted in an out. The Rangers went on to win 4-2, so Garcia’s cannon arm may have saved the game.

We have seen some eye-popping throws from MLB outfielders over the years, but that was easily among the most impressive.
