Bo Bichette is getting his first real taste of life in New York.
The New York Mets third baseman Bichette had another rough showing on Sunday against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Bichette went 0-for-5 with three strikeouts as the Mets went on to lose in extra innings by a final score of 4-3.
After one particular strikeout in the seventh inning (with two outs, two runners in scoring position, and the score tied at 2-2), Bichette heard loud boos from the home crowd at Citi Field in Queens, N.Y. Here is the video.

Bichette was asked about the boos after the game and offered a mature response.
“If anything, I thought it took too long,” said Bichette of the boos. “I get it. I thought my at-bats were terrible too.”
The two-time All-Star Bichette, 28, signed a three-year, $126 million contract with the Mets over the offseason. But he has gotten off to a horror start in New York thus far and now sits at 1-for-14 (.071) with eight strikeouts through his first three games.
Three games is obviously too small of a sample size to make any outstanding pronouncements about Bichette. He is also having to make adjustments in other notable areas as well (though trying to get Mets fans to be understanding might ultimately be a losing battle).
