Brewers hit back-to-back clutch HRs in Game 3 vs. Mets in electrifying scene
The Milwaukee Brewers blew the roof off American Family Field on Thursday with a pair of huge back-to-back home runs in the clutch.
Milwaukee’s winner-take-all Game 3 against the New York Mets in their NL Wild Card series was a pitcher’s duel all the way through the first six-plus innings. Starting pitchers Jose Quintana of the Mets and Tobias Myers of the Brewers failed to allow even a single run combined between the two of them, and the game was a 0-0 draw heading into the bottom of the seventh.
But upon Jose Butto taking the mound for the Mets in relief of Quintana, the Brewers immediately got to work. Milwaukee pinch-hitter Jake Bauers led off the inning by crushing a home run to right field to open up the scoring and send the Brewers’ home crowd into a frenzy.

The Brewers were not done yet however. On the very next pitch that Butto threw, outfielder Sal Frelick took him deep as well, sending the ballpark into full-on party mode.

Milwaukee very nearly got swept in the best-of-three series against the Mets before rookie Jackson Chourio saved their season with two separate massive homers in Game 2. In Game 3, it was also two homers that did the damage for the Brewers, this time the back-to-back jacks by Bauers and Frelick.
