Brian Cashman played funny prank on rival Alex Cora
The New York Yankees-Boston Red Sox rivalry has taken another edgy turn.
Before their series opener Tuesday in New York, Yankees GM Brian Cashman came down to the field during batting practice and pranked Red Sox manager Alex Cora by putting an “I love Phil Nevin” sticker (referencing the Yankees third base coach) on his back. It was all in good fun however as Cora gave Cashman a big hug after being pranked, per the Bergen Record’s Pete Caldera.
This guy apparently just pranked Sox mgr Alex Cora by putting an “I Phil Nevin” sticker on his back behind the batting cage.

Cashman doesn’t appear to have much history with Cora, so it’s nice to have the occasional detente to an otherwise bitter rivalry. As for the context behind the sticker, Cora exchanged words with Nevin from the dugout when the Yankees and the Red Sox cleared the benches the last time that they met.
