Chris Sale reportedly cut up throwback uniform with knife, refused to wear it
Chris Sale reportedly lost his temper over throwback uniforms that the Chicago White Sox were slated to wear Saturday night.
Reports stated that Sale, who was scratched from his start and sent home before the game, refused to wear the uniforms and went as far as to cut them up in protest.
Not a joke: Source says Sale blowup was because he didn't want to wear throwbacks, so he cut the jerseys up so no one could wear them.

Trusted MLB reporters Ken Rosenthal and Jeff Passan confirmed that the story is true.
Sources say: Sale cut up throwbacks during batting practice. Upset that, in his view, PR and jersey sales were more important than winning.

Yup, it's true. Chris Sale got sent home by White Sox for cutting up a jersey he didn't want to wear. Source confirms @StokkeTommy report.

Sale’s weapon of choice was apparently a knife.
Finally, told Sale used a knife to do whatever cutting he did of uniforms. Which really shouldn't add to the story but somehow does.

Earlier in the day, the White Sox tweeted an image of a throwback jersey. It’s unclear if these were the uniforms the team was slated to wear Saturday night. The team did not wear them during the game, opting instead for 1980s-era throwbacks that the team uses on a regular basis.

If true, it’s an incredibly bad look for Sale, who has had his share of issues with the Sox front office. With his name all over the place in trade rumors like this, you have to wonder if a temper tantrum such as this might impact his trade value.
