Chris Sale says he would like to stay with White Sox
Chicago White Sox pitcher Chris Sale will likely have to endure another winter of trade rumors, but if it were up to him, the lefty ace would stay right where he is.
Sale told Bruce Levine of CBS Chicago that his preference would be to continue to play for the White Sox.
“I don’t worry about that stuff,” Sale said of the trade talk. “That will shake out on its own. I wear this uniform with a lot of pride. I hope I can continue to do that.”
On Sunday, the Boston Red Sox had top executive Frank Wren at Sale’s start to watch him in person, a sign that the team’s trade deadline interest has not waned and they may go back in for the starter after the season.
Sale has had his disputes with the White Sox and their management, including over some very strange things. He doesn’t sound disillusioned with the organization, though. Still, don’t be surprised when his name figures heavily into offseason trade rumors.
