Christian Yelich out of Home Run Derby with back issue
Many people were excited to see Milwaukee Brewers outfielder Christian Yelich participate in Monday’s Home Run Derby, but unfortunately, it won’t be happening.
Major League Baseball announced Sunday that Yelich would be withdrawing from the derby due to a back injury and would be replaced by Oakland Athletics third baseman Matt Chapman.

Yelich was leading the majors in home runs, so this is really disappointing. It’s even more unfortunate when you consider just how much of a show he looked poised to put on just by the practice he was doing.
Chapman is no slouch, having hit 21 home runs this season en route to his first All-Star appearance.
