Francisco Liriano on track to return for ALCS Game 2
Francisco Liriano appears to be close to returning to the mound for the Toronto Blue Jays roughly one week after a scary scene that saw him take a line drive to the back of his head/neck area.
A Blue Jays team spokesperson said on Thursday that Liriano made it through a bullpen session without issue and is on track for a return in ALCS Game 2 on Saturday, per John Lott of VICE Sports.
From a #BlueJays spokesperson: "Liriano’s bullpen session went well. On track to return for Game 2. No issues."

Liriano was diagnosed with a mild concussion after he was struck by a comebacker off the bat of Texas Rangers outfielder Carlos Gomez in Game 2 of the ALDS (video here) and had to be taken to the hospital. The Blue Jays would go on to sweep the Rangers in that divisional series and will be happy to have the former All-Star Liriano back in the mix for their ALCS showdown with the Cleveland Indians, which starts on Friday.
