Freddie Freeman’s wife roasted him for his shower injury

Freddie Freeman is back in the lineup for the Los Angeles Dodgers after suffering a somewhat embarrassing shower-related injury early in the year, but he still has not lived that whole ordeal down.

Freeman landed on the injured list back in the first week of April after slipping in the shower at his home. The slip caused him to pull scar tissue that was present in his right ankle from a previous injury.

The star first baseman opened up about the injury during a recent interview with Chris Rose Sports. He defended himself by saying a healthy person without a surgically-repaired ankle likely would have been able to catch themselves and prevent a fall. He also admitted that his wife Chelsea really let him have it over the circumstances that led to the injury.

“My wife literally said, ‘I thought this was going to happen later in life,'” Freeman admitted.

Freeman is only 35, but as he noted, he is working with a surgically-repaired ankle. That is a valid excuse, but he will not be living this one down anytime soon.

Freeman and his family have had quite the journey to the current point of his career. His wife is certainly allowed to get that jab in. It helps that the first baseman has been effective since his return, as he is hitting .282 with four home runs in 12 games.
