Adam Eaton was scratched from the Washington Nationals’ lineup on Tuesday due to a bone bruise in his ankle.
Eaton left Thursday’s Nats game against the Mets after injuring his ankle sliding into home. He only pinch hit on Saturday, and then he did not play on Monday although he did play on Sunday and went 0-for-6.
Nationals say Eaton has been scratched with a bone bruise in his left ankle, the same ankle that forced him to sit Saturday, though that was supposedly due to scar tissue dislodging.

Eaton opened the season on fire for the Nats. He got hits in all three games against the Reds to open the season, including a 5-for-5 performance and homers in consecutive games.
The Nats are hoping to get some nice return from Eaton this season after he missed most of last year with a torn ACL. That was his first season with the Nats after they gave up a hefty package to get him in a trade with the White Sox.
