Ronald Acuna injury

Atlanta Braves star Ronald Acuna Jr. went down Sunday with a concerning non-contact injury while running the bases.

Acuna faked a move to third and suffered some sort of injury to his leg while doing so. He immediately crumpled to the ground in pain and limped off the field, albeit largely under his own power.

Acuna does have a history of knee issues, as he tore his right ACL in 2021. This, however, was clearly an issue with his left leg. Officially, the Braves described the injury as “left knee soreness,” though it is unlikely they will have any specifics until Acuna can undergo further testing.

Acuna's ailment is currently being described as left knee soreness. He will receive further evaluation, but it may not occur until after the team returns to Atlanta tonight

The reigning NL MVP, Acuna has had an underwhelming start to the season by his standards. He entered Sunday hitting .246 with four home runs, though he remains an integral part of Atlanta’s lineup.
