Shelby Miller to get second opinion on elbow injury
Shelby Miller is heading to Los Angeles to receive a second medical opinion about his elbow.
Miller was placed on the 10-day DL Monday by the Arizona Diamondbacks after leaving his Sunday start against the Dodgers with forearm tightness.
Miller underwent an MRI Monday which showed some inflammation.
“He didn’t really tell me much,” Miller said of what the team doctor told him, via MLB.com. “Just kind of looked at the MRI a little bit and saw something was there — some inflammation and stuff. I’m going to get a second opinion tomorrow and go from there. Not a lot of specifics. I just know that something is not right.”
Miller was a disappointment for Arizona last season after the team traded a package, including 2015 No. 1 pick Dansby Swanson, to Atlanta as part of the deal. He went just 3-12 with a dismal 6.15 ERA. The 26-year-old is 2-2 with a 4.09 ERA this season.
