The Detroit Tigers confirmed Friday that they will not bring back manager Brad Ausmus for 2018.
In a statement, the Tigers said that the search for a new manager has already commenced, and with Ausmus’s contract up at the end of the season, the team will simply not extend his deal.

Ausmus will be allowed to manage the last nine games of the season.
Those he still has a few games to go, Ausmus posted a 312-325 record in his four seasons as Tigers manager, with one playoff appearance. Ultimately, his tenure as Detroit manager will be remembered more for moments like this rather than for any memorable victories.
