Yankees sign 2-time All-Star pitcher
The New York Yankees nabbed another All-Star this offseason to bolster their rotation. Free agent pitcher Marcus Stroman has agreed to a deal with the Bronx Bombers.
Stroman and the Yankees on Thursday reached an agreement on a contract.

Previous reports pegged Stroman’s interest in signing with the Yankees to be one-sided. But it didn’t take long for the Bedford, New York native to start feeling the love from his hometown team.
Stroman, who has previously played two seasons with the New York Mets, admitted that he “didn’t actually grow up a Mets fan” when he first ended up with their team.
Stroman called himself “a New York fan” first and foremost during a 2019 interview when he was bound for the Mets. With the Yankees deal all but official, he’ll soon be able to say that he’s played for both New York baseball teams.

Stroman appeared to be fired up by the agreement. He beat insiders to the punch by posting himself edited into a Yankees uniform on Instagram before the news of his contract went public.

Stroman was named an All-Star during the 2023 season after a stellar first 20 games with the Chicago Cubs. He had an ERA of 2.96 before the All-Star break. However, a post-All-Star slump dropped his ERA to 3.95 with 119 strikeouts and a WHIP of 1.25 across 27 games played.
