Anthony Davis eager for another shot at Warriors in playoffs

Anthony Davis

Anthony Davis is eager for another shot at the Golden State Warriors in the playoffs.

Davis was a monster on Saturday, scoring 47 points with 11 rebounds in the New Orleans Pelicans’ 131-123 win over the Portland Trail Blazers in Game 4. The win gave the Pelicans a sweep in the series and takes them into the second round of the playoffs. Their next opponent will likely be the Warriors, who lead the Spurs 3-0 in their series.

Asked after winning Game 4 whether he wants a shot at Golden State, Davis said he was looking forward to it.

“I love it. My first time going to the playoffs, they swept us. So I would love to have that matchup again, especially with the way we’re playing,” Davis told TNT after the game. “But it doesn’t matter. It doesn’t matter who we play; we’re worried about us and how we can play in the playoffs. We’re playing super well right now.

“I don’t care who we play against. We just have to take care of business.”

The Pelicans sure seem to be rolling. Though Game 1 was a two-point contest, they won the next three games somewhat comfortably. Davis has been playing great, but the real factor could be Jrue Holiday, who shot well over 50 percent against Portland, including 41 points in Game 4. It seems like Rajon Rondo knew this team had it in them.
