Earlier this week, Bradley Beal agreed to a buyout with the Phoenix Suns and wasted little time joining a new team, agreeing to a two-year, $11 million deal with the Los Angeles Clippers.
The Suns owed Beal another $110 million over the next two seasons, the bulk of which will still be paid. The $11 million from Los Angeles will help offset some of what Beal had to surrender in the buyout ($13.9 million).
Beal spent the past two seasons in Phoenix after being acquired from the Washington Wizards, but the pairing did not work out. Not only did the Suns struggle, but Beal was saddled with injuries, playing in just 106 of a possible 164 games.
After the buyout was made official, Beal wished the Suns and their fans farewell… But in a very harsh way.

Beal, who averages 21.5 points, 4.3 assists, 4.1 rebounds, and 37.6% from three-point range over his career, saw a significant statistical regression in Phoenix. He averaged just 17.6 points, 4.3 assists, and 3.8 rebounds over the past two seasons, but did improve his three-point shooting as he went 40.7% from beyond the arc.
The three-time All-Star spent his first 11 seasons with the Wizards and will now have the chance to suit up for a playoff contender in Los Angeles.
