Bradley Beal has not yet made a decision about whether he will be playing in the NBA’s restart in Orlando, but he is training like he will participate.
The Washington Wizards guard spoke with reporters on Wednesday and shared that he is still working hard despite his uncertainty.
“I’m still working my tail off every single day as if I am playing,” Beal said. “It is definitely more or less going to be a decision that comes down to the medical staff and I just because of our precautions and coming back from zero to 100.
“I had some nagging stuff at the end of the year we are trying to clean up, too. We’re looking at it from all angles. I’m definitely working out every single day in here. It’s good to be back in the facility.”
In addition to concerns about his body will handle going from the layoff to playing important games, Beal also expressed some concerns about the limitation of life inside the bubble.
Washington enters the restart 5.5 games behind the No. 8 seed Orlando Magic in the Eastern Conference. Beal is averaging 30.5 points per game and Washington’s best player, so making up the difference in the standings with only eight games to play would be even more difficult without him.
