The Dallas County coroner confirmed DeJean-Jones’ death.
Dejean-Jones played high school ball for Taft High School in Woodland Hills, Calif., the same high school as former NBA player Jordan Farmar. He began his college career at USC, transferred to UNLV for two seasons, and then played his senior season at Iowa State, where he helped the Cyclones win the Big 12 tournament.
Though Dejean-Jones went undrafted last year, he was signed with the Pelicans briefly and played in the D-League. He signed a pair of 10-day contracts with the Pelicans this year and played in 11 games with the team, averaging 5.6 points in 19.9 minutes per game.
