Bulls shut down Lauri Markkanen for remainder of season
The Chicago Bulls aren’t going to take any chances with one of their young building blocks and will shut him down for the remainder of this season.
As teams begin to fall out of contention for playoff berths, players getting shut down for various reasons becomes commonplace. Lauri Markkanen is the latest to have his season end early after experiencing fatigue on Tuesday.
Coach Boylen: "Lauri will be out for the rest of the season. We got his tests back from his fatigue episode came back all positive, but we're going to be as cautious with him as we can." pic.twitter.com/l4ub1M9KfW

With the Bulls currently 21-55, shutting down Markkanen is the right decision. He was part of the package the Bulls received in the trade for Jimmy Butler along with Zach LaVine and a piece the team will hope to build around going forward. Markkanen finishes his second NBA season with averages of 18.7 points and nine rebounds in 52 games.
