Chino Hills High School has a new basketball coach, and he took the job without reaching out to the school’s most high-profile parent.
Dennis Latimore, who played college basketball at Arizona and Notre Dame, is the school’s new coach — and he got the job without speaking to LaVar Ball.
“I’ve never met Mr. Ball or any of the parents of the team, but I’m looking forward to meeting them all,” Latimore said Friday, via Eric Sondheimer of the Los Angeles Times. “I feel I have had some pretty good relationships with parents throughout my teaching and coaching. I try to always be positive and optimistic.”
As everyone knows, Ball is no ordinary parent, and he had to deny rumors that he had a hand in the previous coach’s firing. His son LaMelo will be a junior at the school next season.
