Colin Cowherd has serious warning about Ja Morant
Colin Cowherd is known for his hot takes, and he went extra spicy with his latest take.
Ja Morant has been the talk of the NBA world this week and beyond for his great play while leading the Grizzlies towards the top of the Western Conference standings. His scoring average has exploded to a career-high 27.8 per game.
Though Morant has been on fire and exciting NBA fans this season, Cowherd has a warning about the Grizzlies guard.
.@ColinCowherd is skeptical of Ja Morant long-term…

“This Ja Morant stuff. I know he’s great. But I want to remind you: fans and the media have fallen for this five times in the last 12 years. It’s called John Wall, it’s called (Russell) Westbrook, it’s called Derrick Rose. …
“I am very skeptical about the long-term championship odds for springy, athletic guards that drive and score,” Cowherd said.
Cowherd’s commentary and analysis does not seem inaccurate. He’s not wrong about the difficulties in succeeding long-term when you have Morant’s profile. But who’s asking that question? Fans and the media are enjoying the show that Morant is putting on right now. There’s nothing wrong with recognizing how fun and spectacular he has been. We don’t have to predict multiple championships and a Hall of Fame induction in order to enjoy what Morant is doing now. We can just watch him and marvel at how well he is playing and how much he has turned Memphis around. There’s nothing wrong with appreciating that and not letting Cowherd’s warning take away from the present-day enjoyment of the guard.
