DeMar DeRozan wiping out his Instagram leads to trade speculation
In the most sacred and time-honored tradition of the NBA offseason, a star player is causing a mad panic with some suspect activity on social media.
ESPN’s Rachel Nichols shared on Thursday that Toronto Raptors All-Star guard DeMar DeRozan had completely wiped his Instagram account.
Indeed, you can see for yourself that DeRozan’s verified page, which has over 2.2 million followers, has been totally cleaned out and now has zero posts.
Many on Twitter took that to mean that he could possibly be on the move.

Granted, the commotion could easily be all for naught. Basketball writer Nate Jones, for one, indicated that wiping his Instagram is something that DeRozan has been doing from time to time for years now.
I know it’s summer, but can folks please stop reading into what players do on their IG and making it into content. My man has been clearing his IG page periodically for years now.

At the very least though, the timing seems rather suspect. Perhaps DeRozan’s Instagram activity is partly why the odds for this player recently changed.
