The early timetable for Blake Griffin’s return from a hand injury is said to be 4-6 weeks, but Doc Rivers has his doubts.
The Los Angeles Clippers head coach said Tuesday that he feels it is “unrealistic” to expect Griffin to return so quickly from a broken bone in his hand.
“I always say, four to six weeks with a broken hand is unrealistic, I’ll tell you that,” Rivers said before the Clippers’ game against the Pacers Tuesday. “This type of stuff shouldn’t happen. But it did. And it’s real life, and you have to live with real life stuff.”

Griffin suffered the hand injury punching assistant equipment manager Mathias Testi multiple times outside a Toronto restaurant over the weekend. Griffin was on his way to returning from a quad injury prior to the hand injury.
This is the second physical altercation Griffin has been involved in recently. In late 2014 he allegedly grabbed a man by the neck inside a Las Vegas club. He was charged with misdemeanor battery as a result.
