Doc Rivers made a point to stop the Los Angeles Clippers-Dallas Mavericks game on Monday night so fans could honor Dirk Nowitzki.
With his Clippers up 121-112 and under 10 seconds remaining, Rivers had his team call timeout. The Clippers head coach then grabbed the mic courtside and urged those in attendance to recognize the future Hall of Famer:

The fans gave Nowitzki a standing ovation. Mavericks owner Mark Cuban appreciated the gesture by Rivers.

The Dallas Mavericks star is believed to be playing his final NBA season and has been receiving recognition during what could be his final game in each arena. Rivers showed excellent awareness and execution with his actions to ensure Dirk would be appropriately honored.
Why did Doc do it?
Doc Rivers said he felt the Clippers didn't salute Dwyane Wade enough when Miami played in L.A. in December and that went into his thinking in calling the timeout for Dirk.
