Draft hopeful Kevin Knox shares tale of awkward interview with team
Kentucky draft hopeful Kevin Knox says he had quite the experience while sitting for a pre-draft interview with an unnamed NBA team.
Knox said Wednesday that, at the NBA Combine, he was asked by one team about whether he had a child. When he said no, the team pressed him, saying that they had information about Knox’s child, but they ultimately backed down when Knox challenged them to tell him the child’s name, admitting that they’d made it up.
Kevin Knox says one team interview at the Combine pressed him if he had a child. Knox, was surprised, obviously replying “no.” The team asked again, saying their intel had learned he had a child. Knox asked for the kid’s name and the team finally relented, admitting it was hoax.

We’ve seen this sort of thing happen a lot in the NFL, so it’s not a huge surprise to learn that it happens in the NBA, too. What is the point? What could possibly be gleaned from a line of questioning like this? It’s gross and uncomfortable.
