The Houston Rockets’ season ended on Wednesday night with a 114-81 loss in Game 5 of their playoff series with the Golden State Warriors, and Dwight Howard was in no mood to talk about his future.
Howard had just eight points in 45 minutes in the Rockets’ loss, though he did grab 21 rebounds. His future was on the mind of reporters, but Howard was unwillingly to provide much in the way of answers.

Q: "How much do you talk to your teammates regarding your future?"

When asked what he thinks the Rockets need to do, fellow star player James Harden said upgrade the roster.
If Harden is saying the team needs to improve the roster, while Howard is unwilling to talk about his future, it seems like an indication that Howard will be leaving the team. That’s no surprise given that their relationship has been described as “bad.”
The Rockets have long expected Howard to opt out of his current contract and become a free agent. They even were reportedly shopping him in trades during the season.
Howard probably knows he is leaving Houston, but there was no sense in talking about it now, especially with a long flight back home in store.
